Refuge du Col de la Vanoise

Inside Vanoiseby FFCAM (Fédération Française des Clubs Alpins et de Montagne)

Large staffed mountain hut at 2,518 m on the Col de la Vanoise, inside the Vanoise National Park. The hut's own site notes that ibex grazing near the refuge are not a rare sight and that marmots greet arriving hikers, making it a classic overnight base for photographing Alpine ungulates at dawn and dusk. Access is on foot only.
