Fin Whale Sperm Whale & Dolphin Research Photography Expedition – Pelagos Sanctuary (Ligurian Sea)

Tethys Research Institute — Italy's first and oldest marine mammal research NGO (founded 1986 at Civic Aquarium of Milan). The Cetacean Sanctuary Research (CSR) project: 6-day research expeditions living on the 58ft motorsailer 'Pelagos' from Sanremo every Monday May–September. Participants (non-scientists welcome — no experience required) join the research team in all aspects: surface surveys, hydrophone monitoring for sperm whale clicks, photo-identification, data entry. 8 cetacean species studied. Season 2026: 15% discount for bookings before 16 May. Multiple expedition departures each month. One of Italy's most extraordinary wildlife experiences — participants have seen 8 sperm whales, 1 fin whale, multiple dolphin species on a single week.
