Andenes — the original Norwegian whale watching location since 1988 — sits at the edge of a deep underwater canyon (Bleiksdjupet) bringing sperm whales close year-round. 'Whale Kingdom of the North' where sperm whales can be seen all 12 months of the year. Summer season (May–October): sperm whales guaranteed + puffins on Bleiksøya. Winter (October–January): orcas humpbacks and fin whales following herring migration. Sea Safari Andenes also runs RIB trips to Bleiksøya for puffins and eagles in breeding season. Research-focused tours — scientific data collected (ID photos drone footage defecation samples). One of the longest-running whale watching operations in Norway.
